About Lindenfold

Wear more. Wash less.

Lindenfold makes reusable activated carbon pads that absorb underarm odor from sweaters, suits and coats between wears, so the clothes you love stay fresh and last longer. Designed and packaged by hand in Stowe, Vermont.

Our Story

It started with a clean sweater that needed one thing

In Stowe, we wear our wool from the first cold morning in October until the snow melts in April. Lindenfold founder Nicole Barran found herself washing her sweaters and dry cleaning her coats long before they were dirty, only because of underarm odor. Sprays and fragrances covered it for an afternoon, and most of them left the clothes smelling worse.

So she made a simpler fix. Activated carbon, the same material used to filter water, draws odor out of fabric. Tuck a Lindenfold pad inside each underarm while a garment rests, and by the next wear it is ready to go again.

What We Believe

Clothes should last

Every wash wears fabric down. Fewer washes help wool, cashmere and fine tailoring keep their softness, shape and color for years.

Care should save money

Fewer trips to the dry cleaner add up quickly over a season.

Nothing on fabric or skin

Our pads are dry and fragrance-free, with no sprays or chemicals.

Kinder to the planet

Washing less saves water and energy, and each pad is reusable for months.

Meet the Founder

Nicole Barran

Founder, Lindenfold · Stowe, Vermont

Nicole Barran is the founder of Lindenfold and a garment care entrepreneur focused on helping people keep their clothes longer. She developed Lindenfold after years of caring for a wool and cashmere wardrobe through long Vermont winters, and after researching how activated carbon absorbs odor from fabric without sprays, fragrance or solvents.

She tests every Lindenfold product on cashmere, wool, silk and fine tailoring, and every order is packaged by hand in Stowe. Nicole shares practical advice on how often clothes really need washing, how to care for knitwear and suits between wears, and how small changes in garment care save money and reduce waste.
